Biography:

Angela Coppola is a photographer based in Boston. Her 3,300 square foot full service daylight studio is complimented by a great support staff. In business for fifteen years, she attributes her work ethic to her parents. Angela finds inspiration in music, travel, magazines, or from just pacing around the studio. She shoots fashion, portraits, lifestyle, and she especially enjoys photographing kids. Recently, Angela has enjoyed great success exhibiting fine art images shot in Italy.

Artist's Statement:

"This body of work is a result of a 6-week self assigned project that took me to Rome, Naples, Capri and the islands, and some very small villages where my family lives. Sometimes when you’re working at the same pace and shooting the same type of things your work becomes uninspiring and I looked at this project as a cleansing and renewing. Going without a stylist, art director, or lighting really makes you par down to the basics of you and your ideas and a piece of film.

I wanted to show the “real Italy”. The smell, the sound, the heat, the taste, the “real Italy”. The time of year brought on a 3-month draught and heat in the 100’s everyday. The color at that time of year is a burned yellow. The sounds of scooters or roosters, the smell of dirty cities or sweet grapes, the taste of dust in your mouth or fresh figs from the tree.

I came back excited to show people what I saw and excited to get back into the studio with an art director."
